Here are some of the top state stories making headlines for 06-07 October 2016:

Man was ordered to stay away fro ten before double suicide.  The case has prompted domestic violence advocates to question why the man killed in the suicide “didn’t face criminal charges for being in a sexual relationship with a minor.”

Regulators want the U.S. Navy to redo some fuel tank plans at its Red Hill, Oahu facility.  The fuel tanks possess a risk to Honolulu’s ground water supply.  A fuel tank leak in 2014 released about 27,000 gallons of fuel into the ground surrounding Red Hill.  According to the EPA, the fuel tanks sit on an aquifer that supplies “a quarter of the water consumed in urban Honolulu.”
